Matthew and April Fedrick
Ape’s Housekeeping and Cleaning Services, LLC is a dual veteran owned business established May of 2019 by April and Matthew Fedrick. They have a unique story that speaks on their commitment to service, honor, and integrity. Matthew and April are both Marines, they met in 2011 while serving in Kabul, Afghanistan. While in Kabul, they were attached to United States Forces Afghanistan, Joint Visitors Bureau, serving as Personal Security to high ranking military officials and diplomats that had the pleasure of visiting Afghanistan. April served four and a half years as Military Police and exited the Marine Corps with an Honorable discharge at the rank of Corporal in December 2013. Matthew served nine years as a Motor Transport Operator, executing three deployments serving in Operations Iraqi Freedom, New Dawn, and Enduring Freedom. He was medically retired in 2014 at the rank of Sergeant.
Matthew and April have been happily married since September 2012. The best two-for-one deal April claims to have ever received, was getting her husband/step son combo. Matthew was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California, and was attached to Wounded Warrior Battalion during the tail end of his enlistment and at the beginning of their marriage. April was a full time student working on her Bachelors in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. They attended a program called Veterans Sustainable Agriculture Training in early 2014. That “planted” the idea that they could be business owners. That same year Matthew retired, they had their first child together, and moved back to Matthew's home town in Mount Olive, Mississippi.
Once there, April continued her education and birthed their second child. April stayed home with their young children tending to the family’s needs while Matthew switched gears and went to work to provide. Like many veterans, he tried several different jobs until he found a good fit in retail working as loss prevention. He progressed quickly, and progress means moving, so they moved three times in three years. The last move brought them to Cabot, Arkansas. They fell in love with the area, the community, the school system, and the football program. That's when they decided, no matter what happens, they were going to stay in the area.
There came a major shift in their perspective in early 2019. They began discussions on developing and owning a business of their own. Why not? They questioned what they were good at. They took April's passion for good housekeeping, Matthew's skills in management and business, and the idea was conceived. Matthew quit his job and that same month they purchased the licensing for Ape’s Housekeeping and Cleaning Services, LLC. This is THEIR baby. They take so much pride in growing it, putting the right things into it, correcting the issues that may arise, and they're always looking for ways to help it improve. Here at Ape’s we know about service, with that we’re able to offer professional cleaning with a personal touch that exceeds our client’s expectations.
